Could You Be Part of TEAMSportsAble?

ARE YOU A SportsAble SUPERHERO? …. IF YOU ARE, YOU’LL WANT TO READ THIS.

SportsAble is excited to announce that it has become a charity partner of the  ‘N-Power: Superhero Series’, the UK’s incredibly fun, all-inclusive disability sports series for the Everyday Superhero!

SportsAble have purchased four places in the Superheroes’ 2018 Winter Wonderwheels event at Dorney Lake on the 3rd December 2017.

Winter Wonderwheels is the UK’s first festive disability sports event, which will see Everyday Superheroes cycle, walk, run, push, be pushed, or anything in between around Dorney’s spectacular lake.

There’s something for everyone with 1km, 5km and 10km challenges that can be from day chairs, hand cycles, walking frames, trikes, tandems, race runners, blades and bikes.

In the spirit of fun and inclusion there are no cut-off times.

We are looking for YOU, wonderful Disability Sports Members, and your Superhero friends to take up the challenge and join TEAMSportsAble!

Hopefully this will inspire you to give it a go!!

New to SportsAble, Para Triathlons are where teams of three participate in a relay style triathlon, each taking a different discipline of swim, cycle or run using whatever mobility aid they need.

At the inaugural celebrity-endorsed Superhero Tri in August #TEAMSportsAble came 7th and 8th respectively out of 40+ teams. Our members had a range of disabilities from Cerebral Palsy to MS.

The emphasis at these events is on fun and participation to whatever level individuals can achieve. The atmosphere is supportive and uplifting and it’s a great day out.

Members who have competed in this and other para tris, such as those organised by the Arctic One Foundation, were beginners in this type of challenge. They leave from each event feeling extremely proud of their accomplishments.
