Join us once a month for our Sunday Funday sports fun session for disabled children and their families. This is a free, drop-in sports taster session giving children who are ordinarily unable to keep up in PE lessons on in the park the chance to explore accessible and adapted sport in a fun and friendly environment. Children under the age of 14 and their siblings can take part in Paralympic sports such as Boccia, Table Tennis and Wheelchair Basketball across a two-hour session that offers so much flexibility with others sports available to try such as New Age Kurling, Crossbow, Sitting Volleyball and Short Tennis. Whether a youngster wants to spend all afternoon on one activity or spend just a few minutes at each station it’s absolutely fine. There’s lots of laughs to be had, too, with target games using bean bags, balloons and skittles. The sessions are run by trained volunteers, many of whom are chair users themselves and provide real inspiration and support for the young people. Fully accessible building with lots of blue badge parking; refreshments served; lots of parent networking takes place. Membership opportunities and a weekly programme of activities are available for serious sports stars.
