#TEAMSportsAble Enters Swim Challenge
11 SportsAble members and supporters have signed-up to take part in the ‘Boulter’s to Bray Swim’ in aid of our charity.
On 1st July they will join over 100 other keen swimmers in this historic and famous local challenge that sends them downstream from Boulter’s Lock in Maidenhead to Bray.
Swimming coach Sharon Bridge has been preparing #TeamSportsAble for this exciting 2.8km swim during SportsAble’s scheduled Sunday night swimming sessions and during several dedicated freshwater practice sessions in Bray Lake.
Braving the cold morning water at 6.00am on 1st July will be a mixture of disabled members and SportsAble volunteers and supporters such as photographer and graphic designer Ian Legge and fundraisers such as Sarah Langran from White Stuff Windsor store.

Another group of SportsAble swimmers are taking part in a similar challenge, this time based in the warmer waters of the Magnet Leisure Centre swimming pool. Called the Lock to Lock Challenge they will do a ‘virtual’ lock-to-lock swim by completing the equivalent amount of lengths each week under the guidance of swimming coaches and with support from the SportsAble Volunteer Swim Team.
