Inclusive Tai Chai launches at SportsAble
Every Friday 10:30am - 11:45am
Following our successful taster sessions, SportsAble is now introducing weekly Tai Chi sessions from September 13th on Fridays from 10:30am to 11:45am.
The Tai Chi sessions are being run by experts from Follow Steps and suitable for all abilities and disabilities. As we are using an external expert, there is a £3 charge for SportsAble members and £8 for non-members.
The ancient discipline of Tai Chi is known as internal martial arts. It is an exercise that aims to strengthen, stretch, and balance the body.
Tai chi coordinates and integrates core muscles important for postural stability with upper and lower body movement.
At a more subtle level, Tai chi integrates body and mind. Body movements are coordinated with rhythmic, conscious breathing,plus multiple cognitive and emotional components. These include focused attention, heightened self–awareness, visualisation and imagery.
