Niall McCaffrey Climbs Three Peaks for SportsAble
Niall McCaffrey, SportsAble’s Sports Manager, is undertaking the gruelling national three peak challenge later this month to raise money for the charity. The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours, one of which will be a night walk.
By the end of the Challenge, Niall will have walked up Snowdon in Wales (1085m), Scafell Pike in England (978m) and Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345m). This will be a total walking distance of 23 miles (37km) and a total ascent of 3064 metres (10,052ft). These are the tallest mountains in of their respective countries.
Speaking of the challenge Niall says, “SportsAble has been a big part of my life for the past two and a half years and I have been in the fortunate position to see the positive impact that sport and social opportunities have on people’s lives. Completing the challenge is important to me because I can be an active example of pushing myself outside my comfort zone and also being able to fundraise and contribute towards the terrific work that SportsAble does in changing people’s lives for the better.
