SportsAble Aquastars Enjoy Gala Success

Earlier this month, February (23) some of our incredible Aquastars’ swimmers took part in a gala run by Cerebral Palsy Sport at Kings’ School, Romsey Road, Winchester.

Swimmers of all abilities took part and used floatation aids or a helper in the water if required. Competitors took part in races over 10/25/50m in a variety of strokes. All swimmers took part in heats and handicapped finals.

All the SportsAble Aquastars swam incredibly well and each came away with a medal.

Sharon Bridge, SportsAble’s lead swimming coach says, “This was a huge team effort from the parents involved, the volunteers supporting the swimmers in the water, and the courage of the children taking part in the event. All the children medalled, which was fantastic. I also want to say a huge thank you to the volunteers in the water, Chesna Mitra, Joe and Ajah who were all brilliant.”
