SportsAble Hosts Sport in Mind Challenge

Neil Harris, founder of Sport in Mind, is coming to SportsAble on Friday December 14th to try  a range of disability sports in a bid to meet his target of taking part in 100 different sports through 2018.

The purpose of the challenge is to raise awareness of mental health problems and the benefits of being active, which is also the reason why Neil started the charity.

SportsAble Sports Manager, Niall McCaffrey says, “SportsAble knows first-hand how getting active and playing sport can help improves someone’s overall sense of well-being, so we are delighted to support Neil in his challenge.

Throughout the day, SportsAble members will challenge Neil to some friendly competition in the following sports:

Air Rifle Shooting
Air Pistol Shooting
New Age Kurling
Wheelchair Basketball
New Age Bowls

The events will be taking place from 3:30pm onwards,

If you are a SportsAble member and would like to take part in Neil’s challenge then please email and let him know which sport you would like to take part in.
