SportsAble Superheroes Compete in Winter Wonderwheels
The SportsAble Winter Wonderwheels‘ team had an incredible day at this year’s festive extravaganza which took place last weekend (December 2nd) at Dorney Lake, Taplow and raised in excess of £700 for the charity!
The everyday Superheroes were invited to cycle, walk, run, push, or anything in between around Dorney’s spectacular lake. There was a choice of 1km, 5km and 10km challenges, so there was something for everyone. Participants took part on their own or with family and friends and were able to do as much or as little as they wanted with as much or as little support as they needed.
The SportsAble Team included:
Joyce Tesch – 5k hand cycle
John Ireland – 10k walk
Ben Harris – 10k wheelchair push
Noel Steadman – 10k Wheelchair push
Keith Pamment supported Ben Harris as his visual guide and ran alongside him, completing a 10k run.
The Superheroe Tri series is the UK’s one and only disability sports series for the Everyday Superhero! The idea behind the competition is simple; to create fun, full-throttle challenges where people with disabilities call the shots and don’t have to worry about cut-off times or equipment restrictions.
