Stoke Mandeville Outreach Success

The SportsAble Sports Development Team delivered a successful Athlefit Athletics outreach programme at Stoke Mandeville Hospital on April 3rd.

The event was arranged by Bucks Learning Trust and attended by children with disabilities from primary and secondary schools in Buckinghamshire.

Athletfit Athletics is adaptive athletics designed by England Athletics to provide inclusive opportunities for disabled people to experience track and field. It includes disciplines such as mini hurdles, foam Javelins and wobble boards to develop balance and co-ordination.

The sessions were so popular, all of the children said they would recommend it to their friends.

Damian Ng, Sports Development Officer said: “SportsAble has worked with Bucks Learning Trust previously, delivering outreach programmes for Kurling and Boccia. It is great that our partnership continues as they value our expertise in providing disability sport.”
