Tia is a Boccia England Athlete transitioning into Boccia UK World Class Programme. She is looking for a sports professional to assist her on this journey
Location: South East- access to Wokingham, Surrey Sports Park and Bisham Abbey
Hours: 18 hours a week that includes some Saturdays and Sundays, plus extra hours for training camps and competitions
Applicants must have a full driving licence and passport.
This is an exciting opportunity for a sports teacher/instructor/female personal trainer or physiotherapist to work alongside an up and coming Boccia England athlete and support me as I work towards my goals.
You will be a confident, caring professional, interested in physical fitness and athlete development. You are crucial in keeping me fit and motivated and playing at a World Class level so that I maintain my position as an England athlete. Your influence will help to support me as I begin a pathway towards representing Paralympics GB.
Main roles are to:
Be my personal sports assistant, to help me to grow and develop and as an athlete; to offer stimulation and inspiration and to keep me on this exciting pathway; to help me to complete an individual training programme set by my coaches; to support me at training camps and to travel with me to competitions in the UK and overseas several times a year
Provide a programme of daily exercises that will keep me fit and on track towards my goals. This could be a variety of methods including strength and conditioning, Pilates, hydrotherapy, etc. Exercises can be done in the home or through using third parties externally
Train several times a week with me on court and become my on court assistant during official matches
Motivate Me – I’m looking for someone who is confident, focused and someone who isn’t afraid to push me to succeed
Work with me, healthcare professionals and family to ensure my health, safety, wellbeing and happiness
Help me organise days and weeks ahead and stick to a regular routine that boosts my physical fitness and personal wellbeing
Provide certain elements of personal care throughout the day and full personal care routines when away at competitions. This includes feeding, washing, changing clothes and handling wheelchairs and other specialist equipment
Be a companion to me and help me on this important journey towards Paralympics GB
